Studio d – Deutsch als Fremdsprache – Schweiz – A1
As a German teacher, I have used different textbooks in different schools… I must admit this one is my favourite and I keep coming back to it to get extra stuff for my classes. The best thing about it is that it is very practical and focuses on the integration. Instead of the usual boring beginning (the alphabet or introductions), you will start with ordering at the café and start using German from day one!
This specific version of the book (it’s the one I know best) is the textbook and is meant for school use. Without the guidance of a teacher, it might be a bit overwhelming for a beginner. You can also look for other versions: Germany instead of Switzerland, or extra material like vocabulary, tests, etc…
